The Stables at The BROADMOOR –
Experience unique western horseback riding only 20 minutes from the resort. One and two-hour rides are available. A one-hour Wildlife Safari ride is a unique opportunity for the slightly more advanced rider, with the greatest feature being the chance to ride among the elk and buffalo.

Cave of the Winds – The oldest attraction in the Pikes Peak region, visitors can choose from two tours through subterranean chambers to get different perspectives on Colorado’s geological wonders.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo –
America’s “highest” zoo, at 6,800 feet on 50 acres, with more than 800 diverse and exotic creatures. Breathtaking views of the city from the Shrine of the Sun monument above the zoo (weather permitting).

Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center –
One of the most unique arts centers is right here in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado. Overlooking the purple mountains’ majesty of Pikes Peak, on land provided by Mrs. Spencer Penrose, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center was founded in 1936. Today, the Fine Arts Center continues this grand tradition with its stunning art museum, performing arts theatre, and school of art and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Fine Arts Center is often thought of as one of the top ten most significant buildings in Colorado. The Fine Arts Center unveiled its $28.4 million transformation during its ‘Extremely Grand Opening,’ in 2007.

Colorado Springs World Arena and Ice Hall –
These nationally recognized facilities for USA figure skating, USA ice hockey, and USA short-track speed skating and home to the Colorado College hockey team. Special events, concerts and shows are held in the 8,500 seat World Arena. Public skating daily at the Ice Hall.

Garden of the Gods – This 1,300-acre park, a Registered National Natural Landmark of towering red sandstone rock formations is set at the foot of Pikes Peak. Walking and horse trails, picnic facilities and a visitor’s center make this a great family experience.

Manitou Springs Cliff Dwellings and Museum – Opened in 1907, the museum includes some of the finest architecture of the Cliff Dwelling Anasazi Indians. The outdoor preserve demonstrates the Anasazi’s fine stonework with a dwelling of over 40 rooms that can be explored on a self-guided tour.

Miramont Castle – Miramont Castle was constructed in 1895 as a private home for Father Jean Baptist Francolon, a French born Catholic priest. The castle features nine styles of architecture ranging from English Tudor to Byzantine and all crafted from locally quarried greenstone and yellow pine framing. Today Miramont is a museum dedicated to preserving the Victorian heritage of Manitou Springs and the Pikes Peak region.

Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine – Discovered by Mollie Kathleen Gortner in 1891, it was shortly proclaimed “The World’s Greatest Gold Camp.” Visitors can descend the country’s only 1,000-foot vertical mine shaft and gold mine tour. The mine is located halfway between Pikes Peak and the Royal Gorge. (Open daily April through October)

Pikes Peak: America’s Mountain – Reaching 14,110 feet, scenic Pike’s Peak is accessible via car, year–round (weather permitting) Home of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, the second oldest car race in America, and the Pikes Peak Marathon. Kathryn Lee Bates penned “America the Beautiful” in 1893 after visiting the summit.

Pikes Peak Cog Railway – For 114 years, the Manitou and Pike's Peak Railway (the world's highest cog railroad, the highest Colorado railroad AND highest train in the United States) has taken passengers to the 14,110 foot summit of Pikes Peak. Seven Falls – Known as “The Grandest Mile of Scenery in Colorado.” Drive along a box canyon through amazing rock formations. An express elevator tunnels into the mountainside and goes 130 feet up to the Eagle’s Nest Platform. A 224-step stairway beside the falls leads to panoramic overlooks of Colorado Springs and eastern Colorado.
